A little something something I’m working on for my ecological design class. This is part of a larger story board about waste management. eventually it is going to display, somehow, that our current north american methods of waste management are just an attempt to disguise the inevitable entropy.
The image is one taken by a friend of mine three years ago in Kelowna at the Christmas tree dump. When I was back this year over the break I witnessed a train of SUVs depositing unwanted trees at the site. A great greyness overcame my mind right then as I was walking to my friend’s place. Perhaps it was the omnipresent cloud cover combined with the too-quiet mid-afternoon scene that got to me, or perhaps it was my distaste and dissolution with the place I had become acquainted with over the preceding 7 years. Whichever the case, the effect was one somewhere between being dazed and defeated.
